Locarise offers shopper analytic services to its customers with data-driven insights for physical spaces. Their unique approach to merging the on and offline shopping business methods allows retailers to understand their customers in a way physical stores were never able to before. By providing traffic measurements that are often used online, such as dwell time, to brick-and-mortar retailers, Locarise visualizes data digitally for businesses to easily understand their customers and receive feedback they can act on.
DASHBOARD AND INSIGHT REPORTS
As a UX/UI designer at Locarise, I am part of an interdisciplinary team to support the development of their software application platform. I am responsible for designing the user flow and simplifying the end-to-end experience by working closely with product management, engineering, and marketing teams. I also visualize data and numbers into comprehendible analytics to engage our user demographic. Throughout the process of creating and modifying their internal design assets, I actively practice design thinking, strategy, and prototyping processes.
My primary work consisted of conducting research on the existing platform and proposing improvements of the overall framework for navigation and page layouts. Once approved by the team, the design was passed off to be implemented by the developers.
Instead of a chart that was previously used to provide quick access to summarized information for the Dashboard, I suggested the use of a map and a side navigation bar.
DATA VISUALIZATION
Through low to mid-fidelity mock-ups, I designed interactive infographics that are used in the Insight Reports to convert numbers into approachable content, such as bar graphs, heat maps, and area maps. Based on a briefing by the developers, I made decisions on the type and layout of graphs for varying sets of data, along with the colour scheme and copywriting.

STYLE GUIDE, ILLUSTRATIONS AND MORE
Alongside UX/UI design, I worked independently on creating visual assets for the team. By employing colour combinations and style guides that appeal specifically to our user demographic, I assisted in the creation of a professional and credible identity for Locarise.
